Maureen Latvala is a painter, photographer, and web designer. She is currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant, finishing her Masters of Arts degree in Literature at Northern Michigan University. Her recent projects include: "'The Real's Hallucinatory Resemblance to Itself': Hyperreality and Nostalgia in the 'Strange Worlds' of David Lynch" (a postmodern examination of Blue Velvet and Lost Highway) and "Women of the Beat" (a web site about the women involved in the Beat movement).
